Last updated: 26 April 2026

Helmet required

A three-point certified riding helmet (EN 1384 standard) is mandatory for anyone in the saddle, including pupils and accompanying adults. Loaner helmets are available free of charge for new pupils during the trial lesson.

Clothing and footwear

Wear long trousers and closed shoes with a low heel (no sandals or trainers). For competition activities a level 3 body protector and riding boots are required.

Behaviour around horses

Move calmly, speak in a moderate tone, never walk behind a horse without signalling your presence. Children under 14 must always be accompanied by an adult or by an instructor.

Visitors and dogs

Visitors are welcome but must stay in the marked areas and avoid direct contact with the horses without staff authorisation. Dogs are admitted on a leash only and must stay outside the working arenas.

Medical certificate and insurance

To ride you need a valid Italian medical certificate of fitness for non-competitive sporting activity (or competitive for those who compete). All FISE/SEF members are covered by federal liability and accident insurance.
